Alejandro Rivera Leal.

B. Mexico City, 1974.

Artist's statement.

My greatest source of inspiration is human nature, especially its creative force that follows the urge to transform matter into objects and objects into art. In my paintings, these objects converge and collapse in a timeless universe filled with labyrinthine narratives that best describe my views on philosophy, mythology, religion, sexuality, life and death.

By representing reality with the same substance as dreams, imagination and memories, I aim at consolidating a graphic exercise in search of meaning and purpose within our contemporary cultural collective.
